I started with Shopify back in the days of 1.0 themes. Since then I’ve been a developer, a technical director and a CTO, and I’ve built stores for international brands and for businesses taking their first steps online.

What people usually ask before going ahead.

Is the audit really free?

Yes. I spend 30 minutes on your store and send you a written list of what I found. It’s yours to keep, whether we work together or not.

How long does a new store take?

Between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on the catalogue and integrations. The date is set in writing in the proposal.

We’re not on Shopify yet. Can you help?

Yes. I migrate stores from WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Magento, and I also build stores for businesses that don’t sell online yet.

Do you work with stores outside Portugal?

Yes. I work in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and I’ve built stores for brands in the US and Ireland. Portugal shares a time zone with the UK and Ireland, and my afternoons overlap with US East Coast mornings.

What if my business is just me?

That’s fine. I explain everything without jargon and leave the store ready for you to run without needing me day to day.

What happens after the 2 months?

You can carry on by yourselves or move to monthly maintenance. No lock-in.

How much does a Shopify developer cost in Europe?

With me, an Essential Store starts at €1,800 + VAT, a Complete Store or redesign at €4,500 + VAT and monthly maintenance at €400 + VAT, with the price fixed in writing before I start with staged payments. On top of that you pay Shopify’s monthly subscription, which depends on the plan, plus any apps the store needs. The audit tells you which apps are worth keeping.

Shopify or WooCommerce: which is better?

For most stores, Shopify. Hosting, security, updates and checkout are included, and the store handles traffic peaks with no extra work. WooCommerce gives you more technical freedom, but someone has to look after the server and plugins. If you’re already on WooCommerce, I migrate you without pausing sales.

How do you move to Shopify without losing Google rankings?

Before the switch I map every old URL and set up 301 redirects to the new ones. Titles, descriptions, copy and images move to Shopify, along with orders and customers. After launch I monitor Google Search Console and fix any page that drops.

Can Shopify connect to my invoicing or ERP software?

Yes. I connect Shopify to invoicing, accounting and ERP systems so every order creates its own invoice and stock stays in sync, with no one copying data by hand. In Portugal that means AT-certified software such as Moloni, InvoiceXpress or Vendus.

Do we need Shopify Plus?

Rarely at the start. Shopify Plus pays off with very high sales volume, separate stores for several markets, advanced B2B or a heavily customised checkout. The audit tells you whether your case justifies the price difference.

Can one Shopify store sell across several EU countries?

Yes. With Shopify Markets, one store shows each country its own language, currency and domain. VAT on sales to other EU countries can be filed in one go through the One-Stop Shop (OSS). I set the store up for this from day one.

What is a 3D product configurator for Shopify?

It’s a tool on the product page where customers choose material, colour, size or engraving and see the piece in 3D, with the price following every choice. Ochi 3D, my app, does this on any Shopify plan and is built for jewellery, furniture and other customisable products.
